The one thing that pisses me off about Egg Whites International is that under the health facts section, specifically "How Much Protein Should You Consume Per Day" they state:
"Protein is the building blocks for muscle. It is also the primary food to your brain."
The first part is true but the second sentence is false. The primary nutrient for your brain is glucose.
1. They are wrong in stating protein is a food
2. Most importantly protein is not the primary nutrient for your brain.
Below is our exchange:
The statement that protein is the primary food for your brain is inaccurate. Further, protein is not a food; it is an energy yielding nutrient.
The primary source of fuel for the brain is glucose.
The quote below was found in your health facts section.
"Protein is the building blocks for muscle. It is also the primary food to your brain."
Have a good day,
Brent
President's response:
Hi Brent,
Thank you for the info. We have been told by our Doctors in our research that the blood protein that goes to the brain was a primary food source to the brain. I will do some further research to clarify or change that statement as we do not want to be misleading in our efforts to educate people about egg whites. You are the first person to ever bring this to me attention.
Thanks again,
Ray "Mac" McCabe
