Hi GI carbs. Those are carbs that the body rappidly takes in. For the sake of an easy explanation it forces nutrients into your muscles because of the insulin spike. This is the type of drink or meal you take after you work out, pwo=post workout. For example: sugar, honey, rice cakes, carrots, corn, peas, white bread. All go into your system quick.

Macro Nutrients, Carbs, Fat, Protein, calories basics right there. Go on the labels of your foods and find out how much.

The Glycemic Index - You don't need to remember the numbers necessarily just remember which basic foods are high/moderate/low gi.

I would suggest not trying to eat like ronnie coleman or any of these other pros that take drugs.

You eat 6 breasts a day. I dont even think Jay or Ron eat that much chicken. Who the hell pays for the groceries in your house? Oh and one last question, dont you get sick of eating chicken for every one of your 6 meals.

Hey, no insulting meat here. But besides that, portions can be smaller, grocerie stores usually have thick chicken breasts and then variations of sizes from thin and up.

Ok, here's the deal: You want to keep your insulin as calm as can be throughout the day except for one crucial point in time, i'll get to that later. Insulin in your body is created by the pancreas and is the body's most powerful hormone. This hormone does 2 things: it either 1. helps drive nutrients into the muscles and helps exponentially in protein synthesis, or 2: it drives nutrients into lipid cells (makes what you consume into FAT). Protein synthesis is what aids your muscles in the quest of getting bigger.
So what does that have to with my diet? The answer is everything! If you eat the wrong foods, at the wrong times, your body will work against you. Conversely, if you do eat the right things at the right time, it will make your body work miraculously. So, how do we get the body to do what it needs to do? I mentioned earlier the powerful hormone insulin-that your body makes on it's own. Insulin is secreted when you eat carbs. It doesn't matter what kind of carb you eat your body will still release that hormone. Some carbs produce the secretion of insulin much more strongly than others. We rate this scale of realising insulin with an index; the Glycemic index. The a carb with a higher rating 70+ will produce a very strong insulin spike. We only want a strong insulin spike after a workout. After working out your body shifts into an ANABOLIC PHASE that is extremely sensitive to carbohydrates. When you consume a High GI carb your body will send those nutrients into your muscles via PROTEIN SYNTHESIS. You have to take advantage of this phase because it only lasts 45 minutes. As soon as you're done working out you need to be consuming High GI carbs, and this is the ONLY time of day you need to eat any carb with a rating of 70+. You then should consume only low-GI carbs for the rest of the 23 hours.
So, eat high GI carbs immediately after a workout and then never again until another P.W.O. (post work out). Eat slower digesting LOW GI carbs everyother part of the day.
Low GI carbs I believe you should eat more of than any other type: BARLEY
Quinoa
Oatmeal
Cherries
Basmati Brown Rice
and Sweet potatoes.
The typical bodybuilder consumes about 80 grams of complex-LOW GI carbs every 2 1-2/ 3 hours. consume about 50 grams of HIGH GI carbs P.W.O.
Got any questions hit me up dude, OUT!

Oh, in case some of you are wondering...i'm still low carb. I skip the whole insulin balance altogether....if you want to know how I do my diets then you can post that question and i'll see it and answer back, or you can PM me. Also, if any finds any mistakes then correct what you see and we'll argue later...gater.
