My family always has a stockpile of lunch meat in the house (turkey, roast beef, ham etc.) all of them the leanest and most expensive possible... however i heard today they are full of Nitrates and are extremely bad for you... i was wondering if there was any truth to this?

Are they pre-packaged? If so they probably do...but some deli's etc. actually slice the meat for you, try to do that if possible.
