as a suggestion if you wake up in the middle of the night have a protein shake next to your bed it will get your meal in and help your body form going into a catabolic state

Working out that late I may suggest switching your PWO Carbohydrate source to a more nutrient rich one, possibly oats, or a whole grain bagel, or whole wheat bread. Also, it is not neccessary to wait a full hour for your second re-feed, 1/2 hour will suffice.

Both methods work, and the low-GI vs. high-GI PWO debate has been had so many times it is ridiculous. But basically, high-GI (dextrose, fructose, etc.,) PWO runs the risk of adipose storage, which we do not want. Also, using oats, bagel, etc., provides your body with other essential nutrients instead of essentially loading it up with sugar.

3 cups skim milk, 1 cup of rolled oats and 1 scoop of your whey protein.

That will make it a bit easier for ya late at night and slow it down... grab a serving of cottage cheese with some cinnamon sprinkled on it and mic a half scoop of protein in it.

I'm the same way. I finish training about 8:30.

Immediately after my workout I have 1/2 - 3/4 cup oats with 2 scoops ON whey.

Once I get home and shower (which is about 1/2 hour later) I have my ZMA. 1/2 hour after that I have 250g cottage cheese, a huge pile of broccoli, 2 egg whites, 1 egg and 2g fish oil.

Then off to sleep.
