Hi all, I was just wondering how everyone went when trying to design a diet plan that was able to fit into their work schedule. The reason why I ask this is because my job is rather full on and it makes it hard to set out a 5 to 6 meal plan for the day. I often only have time for one meal between 7am and 5pm, which is quite frustrating.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and how did you solve this.

I only ask this because I believe that often a 5 to 6 meal plan is not possible for most people due to busy lifestyles which is disappointing. Fo example I remember my company use to have morning tea (smoko) but everyone voted to get rid of it for more pay. That would have been a perfect time to fit a small meal in.

Any ideas or opinions.

Matt

Are you in a position where you can eat while you work? Or able to take a quick 10 minute break every few hours? We prepare the next days food (Breakfast, mid-morning shake, lunch, afternoon shake), the night before and I take it all to work with me. You've got to be able to feed your body every 3-4 hours.

Prep chicken pieces and tuna/oatmeal patties. These things you can pop in your pocket and eat without too much distraction. The herb and garlic drained tuna packs are nice as well. Basically it means you'll have to prepare all your meals prior to leaving the house and you will have to go with meals that are hearty and won't sour/spoil easily.

Good advice on meal prep, and don't forget snacks (read fruit and veg).

But what sort of work is it? If you are a desk jockey then you just have to eat and work. If you work a sales type job, quit and get a real one, or look to have more snack type foods that won't cause an issue, and shakes that can be in a drink container to sip. If its construction/labour, get your union onto it and you'll have all your smoko breaks back.

For non-aussies/kiwis Smoko=tea/coffee break.

Shit, here we go...again. I'll get the alcohol and gauze. Mullet, you get the stretcher and we'll let b-fiddy dial 911. Hopefully he won't fuck it up again.

I'm in the mining industry and it was the union that got rid of morning tea. (Buggers) Anyway I see that planning is a huge key point in following a diet and training. Thanks for the advice guys

Well as i have also a job where i do 2 breaks in a day and in both of em i eat. But before i had these 2 breaks i usually used some small ones (on occasions).
Lets say some guys go to have a smoke break... then i just take my food out and eat that time, as i`am an non-smoker. Ofcourse u have to have that kind of a food u can just take out and eat.

My first topic i made was "Tuna" and one guy added some nice idea how to eat tuna. Take egg whites and place em on a pan and make a scrambled egg then just add tuna and after some time just eat. I did try it and found in kinda good.
So i took one small box of it to work with bread and ate it when i had the small time to do so.

U just have to try and see when u can and when u can`t eat. And eat some decent food that give u carbs, protein and so on what ur growing body needs. Or just take something u can just let`s say walk-n-eat.

Best wishes m8!

PS! Sry my kinda "kinky" english.

something ive been thinking about doing (if possible) is getting some sort of food compressor and making my own protien bars with well; protienpowder, oats, and whatever else that sounds good to throw in there.

but the only problem is that i dont know if there is such a product, so if some one knows about one tha'd be great, i personally think that it would be a great way to both save money on food and be convienent and quick at the same time.

just my 2 cents

edit: maybe you dont need a compressor thing, i jsut found this-

Protein bars are handy to eat but the buggers are expensive. I'm getting into a routine now of making large amounts of chicken/tuna/rice/veg etc on Sunday and preparing small meals for the week. Its a good thing that there are no take away shops near by so it removes the temptation.

that's a good idea if there was something out there like that, and if there isn't...it wont take to long to have it on "as seen on tv" products lol
