hey layne, thought i would ask for a little advice because i'm trying your contest prep for my upcoming show in may. i've always used a low carb approach to dieting for my shows but obviously lost more muscle than i should have. my question is towards my carb timing because i do my cardio in the morning and lift at night(afternoon-6pm). upon rising i'm taking 15% of my carbs in low gi form (oats) and then proceed to cardio. should i split my pre workout, during workout(dextrose) and post workout carbs in half? so instead of taking 35% pre-w/o, 20% during w/o and 25% post workout should i instead take 25% pre cardio in the morning (which will contain my first 15% and 35% of carbs=50% total daily carb intake) and the other 25% pre-w.o(weights) and the same with the during workout dextrose(20%) and the post w/o carbs(25%), which will then be halved into 10% x 2workouts=20% during w/o carbs. and 15%(cardio) and 10%(weights) for post w/o carbs?

tried to make it as understandable as possible. Basically should i half my carb percantages for the 2 different workouts. hope you see what i'm getting at or i'll try to rephrase it if need be.

i would do 15% carbs pre cardio then 15% post, then 25% pre weights, 25% post and then you'll have 20% left to do what you want with

could i use 10% for during cardio in the form of dextrose, whats your take on high gi carbs during a contest prep diet? and the other 10% would consist of vegetables.
