Its a very exact amount of time to run for. What happens if you run for 40 mins, it doesnt work, lol

The idea of doing it early morning is just because you have not yet been able to induldge your self with carbohydrates which is what stores as fat if you dont use the amount you eat. & yes running for 40+ is when you start to attack fat after you have burnt your carbohydrate, glucose stores. There has been recent studies that have shown running for half as long but doing sprints as ive mentioned somewhere on here before can do as well. Also, look at all the professional sprinters and how built/ lean they look and if they are a 100m sprinter I can tell you they probably wouldnt run further than 400m in one go as they just do sprint intervals.

I do 60 mins every morning. Mine is a incline walk on the treadmill. At first I started with no food prior to the workout, this was for 30 mins, but after upping my time found I was feeling sick after the session. this made it very difficult to eat afterwards.

So now I have a packet of instant oatmeal and get to movin, i love it; really gets my day going.

it is not any better than cardio at other times of the day and it places you at greater risk for muscle loss

Thanks Layne! I told them in a similar thread you cover this topic in the cardio section of your pre-contest article.

Layne do you think walking on an incline presents the same fear of muscle loss, or does cardio at any time promote muscle loss? Or is it the lack of food in the stomach which is the factor?

Lets bottom line this...

If I eat all my meals in the day and come home from a 12 hour shift,, 45 minute drive home,, get on my eliptical machine and go at it for 45 to 60 minutes. I have will have same affect and weight loss as if I had woke up in the morning and got on my eliptical machine and did my 45 minute cardo session.

This is what your saying
