I know some people like doing deads with the trap bar, including Layne. What do you like about this more than the conventional deadlift with the straight bar?
it might save your shins from bleeding all over the place...also the grip is no longer infront of your body, but beside it...how do you find this moves the stress in your arms/shoulders/upper back?
never tried it.
it looks more comfortable. i got deads today n i'll give it a go

it's easier to do than a straight bar deadlift. I used it for awhile just to see what it was like. It was pretty cool but i prefer doing normal deadlifts because they are more challenging and feel like they hit the back more. Most football teams use that bar to do deadlifts with. One of my friends who played football could do quite a bit more on the trap bar. I think it doesn't require as much grip.
