would working with weights 7 days a week be considered as overtraining?

Day 1: Chest and Abs + Cardio
Day 2: Biceps and Triceps + Cardio
Day 3: Back and Calves + Cardio
Day 4: Shoulders and Abs + Cardio
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Repeat with Chest and so on...

this program involves weight training 7 days a week and cardio 4-5 times a week, what results can an intermediate bodybuilder expect from this program?

Yeah that is a lot of training. You need at least one rest day.

not nessecarily... well i think most of us know i believe long term overtraining of the muscular system is a complete fabrication, but so long as you don't get mentally tired on that split without a rest day i say go for it

i think u are being hasty in ur conclusion now Layne.. i know that the mental part of the body controls very much of how our physical part's going, but i think 1 day should be a minimum. getting to that size is not hard rockyk86, but i think u should consider having at least 1 rest day if u want to get any bigger. cut all alcohol and eat well, even on off days. that is what many ppl do wrong..

so u think 7 days hardcore is okay? the body needs rest, even physical rest not just mental. all bodies could need a day off every week, because then it gets time to relax and make itself reasdy to next week's workouts. thats why it is most common on Sundays

I think you would see better gains having a rest day. Try it out both ways, keep stats and let us know which one worked best for you.

my body does rest while i sleep, while i'm sitting in front of the pc, in fact my body is resting all the time except when i'm working out or performing cardio, even if I weight train for abt an hr and perform cardio for 40 mins., i do get 22hrs 20 mins rest a day, why take an extra day off when i could build extra muscle that day?

If you already knew the answer why did you ask the question?

i've been on 4-5 day workout / week program for a long time, my gains have been decent, my diet is very clean, i wan't to try out this program to test myself, the program mentioned above is physically as well as mentally tiring, will try out the program for a few weeks and will post results
