Hey guys.....something pretty sad happened last night at the gym.......Another competitor dropped from the competition!!! This time was a 18 or 19 year old kid (Very good and proportioned upper body ..65kg class.....very friendly and nice kid) .He was also juicing for the contest and he got pretty strong lately....he always loading the bar with more weight every time I saw him.........I remember that a few weeks ago I told him to be careful but he said...don’t worry I will!!! Well last night he was curling 135 lbs at a bodyweight of 143 lbs.....and suddenly his left bis gave out!!!! .....this is pretty sad because nobody deserve this to happen....specially 3 weeks out..........Also I don’t know how bad the injury was but he got a black bruise in his arm.......

When juicing your muscles grow and get strong fast but you tendons and ligaments don’t.......

Ouch!! man that’s pretty bad!! i feel very sorry for him!!!! i hope that the kids reading this always listen to their body first......ego lifting and the macho attitude is not going to take you long.

Poor kid, the same thing happened to a friend of mine who used to compete in Germany (You know him Francisco, Vali Tirsoaga), as Layne said he tore his bicep off the bone, and had a major surgery to attach his biceps back using screws. It's very painfull and damaging.
By the way excellent song Chico, let call it the song of victory hehehe.

Yes i remember Vali....he was pretty big in his days!! I remember that he used to tell us to be careful in the gym.....(a few years ago)

Hello guys....

I have noticed that I am having trouble defining my hams......in order to improve Layne advised me to increase my HIIT from 2 times/week to 4 times/week. I started yesterday with the first session for this week and let me tell you is really tough....especially after hitting my back hard in the weight room. This is the final Push!!! And I need to push harder and harder these final weeks.....i can’t slow down!!!

At this point I don’t care about the scale, about the people and his stupid comments, I don’t care about anything else but achieving the best possible condition. On the other hand... It is very funny how people behave...... for example when I workout with t-shirt covering my body...everybody tell me that I am looking flat and skinny,,,,but the next day when I workout with a tank top...the same people tell me that I am looking huge!! This remembers me something that Layne told me yesterday.........”The leaner you get the bigger you will look onstage” ....very true!! This sport is about creating the illusion of Size and not about how much you weight.

Getting back to my original subject I will be doing HIIT today, tomorrow and Saturday to complete this week......then I have 2 more week to try to improve my ham definition before the contest.

People are easily thrown off guard. You and Layne make a great team! I agree, I would rather go in well-conditioned and cut even if I had to sacrifice a little size than go in there and look sloppy. Your hams will come in.. keep training hard!!
