Yeah well, last time I checked, Jay Cutler takes glutamine in all his videos, and he's a Mr. Olympia. Is Layne?

Give me a break, Bobo.

That’s probably because Muscletech sponsors Jay and he has to give them a plug on his videos to keep them happy. It doesn't mean he takes it has part of his normal routine.

but he would have to do it all the time anyway to be sponsored by muscletech...being sponsored by mt is a full time thing its not something he does on the weekends or when he makes a training movie. he would have to do it all the time, so yes it is part of his normal routine

Give me a break, Bobo.

That because he gets PAID to say it and also on 2g/week of androgens. Instead of giving you a break, you should hop into reality.

Layne is affiliated with Scivation who sells glutamine....and he STILL says not to take it.

So no Layne isn't Mr. Olympia and he also isn't a pimp for products either.

Its called being real..I suggest you do the same.

We should be used to this by now since we've been doing it for a while...but it never ceases to amaze me.

I think some people want validation for the money they've spent on it in the past. Its not everyday someone tells you that you wasted money for a good period of time.

EDIT: I appreciate the insults roymccoy. Goodbye.

Bravo, theroymccoy. Well put. Couldn't agree more. No disrespect intended, but until recently I had no idea who str8flexed was. Being the type that only checks into the Olympia scene every October just to see what's up, I have no current idea of what's going on in the natural pro bodybuilding arena, and I'm about to educate myself on it. After watching that video about Layne that Bobo posted, and learning about Layne's aspirations of a PhD in nutritional sciences, I must say I'm impressed. It seems that Layne's career will be extremely interesting to watch over the next 10-15 years with the current path he's on, and at this point he's obviously destined to be a pillar of the sport. But Layne, as an old guy with a PhD myself (nothing even close to nutritional sciences, obviously) I will relay the following two famous quotes that would be good to keep in mind as you pursue your goals. And I relay these with respect to you and to your dedication.

"It's a miracle that human curiosity survives formal education." -- Albert Einstein

"Formal education sometimes broadens but most often flattens." -- Edward Abby (world famous novelist)

And, yes, I'm still going to keep doing L-glutamine. lol

Yeah I loved the insults towards me. I run the board to get insulted. Real fun.

Quotes are fun especially when they fit your beliefs.

Next time someone says your comments are stupid hawk, I'll tell that guy "well put". There will be real progress there

That's part of the point of relaying quotes -- because they fit your beliefs. No disrespect intended towards Layne or towards formal education. Those quotes are just someting he may want to keep in mind as he pursues his goals. Or not.

I was out of line with my "you seem unhappy in general" comment on the other thread. My appologies. I was just sick of you being so condescending to me in all the threads I've been on. I'm over it...condescend away. I was low-carbing it that day, maybe irritable as a result, and new to the site and a little surprised, that's all. Now that I know the tone here I can take whatever you got. Can we call it water under the bridge?

I think many people understand that books aren't the end-all-be-all answer, but we have (I know I) tried just about every glutamine product out there including versions that were never released to the public since I do know quite a bit of companies. I don't ever make my decisions based on studies alone. They are a resource.....My curiosity for what works is as strong as yours.

I wasn't being condescending at all...I'm sorry you took at that way...I was just trying to get you to think of other options or even think it could be other things causing your success. I even told you that if you it makes you feel better to keep buying it but never just blindly accept answers without even looking into why or how things can happen.

I never insulted you, never meant to and those that do have no place here. My comments are my opinion same as yours and I wouldn't call your opinion "stupid".

The supplement industry lives off of "feel". Its why NO products sell like hot cakes. I like them myself for a purely aesthetic value. They make you "feel" the pump..."feel" the stimulants. Are you actually increasing the amounts of gains form it? Not really but its very hard to tell someone it isn't working when they can "feel" it. YOu have to look past that at times and ask yourself if its worth the $40 a tub you pay.

I'll also add that DOMS in no way correlate with recovery (in terms of muscle repair). Even though you might hurt less the day after or 2 days after, the amounts of actual recovery in terms of muscle repair is the same. You just think its quicker because you "feel" it, or in this case, don't.

My disbelief's for glutamine are for results for muscle alone because that's why 99% of them buy it. If it helps with immune function, stomach lining or whatever then thats fine....its not really marketed that way.

Fair enough. We're on the same page. I look forward to seeing what we disagree on and agree on in the future. Hold nothing back.
