I don't really like ast as a company because there really into their supplements ( not to mention thats all they really recomend in a diet ) But there max-ot theory is very intersting , do give some pretty good points , but i mean it looks like a strength program more then a bodybuilder program , but then you look at skip lacour and jeff willet and man that program must be working for them , just wanted to hear some opinions from the natural bodybuilders on this side of the board.

I have been using Max-Ot for a little over a year now and have increased my lifts quite a bit. Muscle growth was sparked again as I was in a rut before Using max-ot. Its a little hard to get used to but every week is better and better.

Really great read, it helped me loads. I was always under the impression that I should pyramid up in weight instead of start heavy and go low.

Max-OT is fine for off-season drug-free Bodybuilders with more robust bone-structures. Most small-boned bodybuilders don't prosper the same from this type of training.

Pre-contest I've seen naturals lose 10 lbs of lean body mass training OT-style while on a restricted diet. The exceptions are naturally very mesomorphic Bodybuilders and drug-users.

Layne, I really liked that article. You have a talent for writing.

I think you may be right about that. The Max-OT stuff has worked well for me, but not so much for my buddies that have a more narrow and leaner body type.

I think that depends largely on your build and your training experience. If your wrist is greater than roughly 10.5% of your height and you have at least a year of heavy training under your belt then I'd give it a try. If that doesn't describe you, however, I think you'd be better off training a bodypart more frequently and using slighter higher reps most of the time.

For a teenager at 17 I really don't think it's a smart approach.

This is how you can sum up Max-Ot as a program.

1.Good warm up
2.6-9 sets per a workout
3.4-6 heavy reps per a set
4.1 or 2 muscle groups per a day
5.2-3 minutes of rest between a set
6.5-7 days rest between working the same muscle group again

It's on and off with people, some people respond to it better than other people. It works on the principle of overload rather than fatigue. You don't really look to work your muscles to the point where they can't do anymore, you should be able to feel like you can go on to do another set.
