i read in a forum some where, a while back that these can do more harm than good.
if thats correct why is this so and is it a good supplement to have or just hype?
what are the good products?

I remember reading about a year ago that like you said they do a lot more harm then good. I'd stay away from it.

the only harm they can do is by releasing reactive oxygen species which can cause harm to your body, but just take a good anti-oxidant supplement post workout and theres no need to worry. I was taking primaforce nitro-charge, good and affordable NO product, but i also take xtend which has citrulline malate(similar to arginine), so i cut out the primaforce to save money. One more not, tablets are not effective as powders so stick to powder form NO product's.

bump to this, also can you arginine in your during workout shake? I drink no post workout shake just during and it consists of

35g of Dextrose
12g of Protein

I've always read that you want higher then a 1:1 ratio excuse me for putting 5:1 i meant 2:1 of carbs:protein.

def. not. What kind of tea?

I also drink Green Tea usually a cup after training and a cup a few hours before I go to sleep. I was just reading an article a few days about about a 97 year old man in Japan who just ran a marathon, and it discussed why the Japanese are the longest lived people and also the healthiest people in old age. Attributed to them eating colorful diets, fish, Green tea, etc.
