I workout everything with more volume & frequency than most IFBB pros i'll bet. Never had a problem. Overtraining = boogeyman. the exception is for people who are older

Does the lack of Anabolics make it even more necessary to hit the muscle with more voulme? Rather than relying on just heavy 5 rep sets for mass.
Yup, most people have it backwards... steroids allow you to train LESS frequently & still keep levels of protein synthesis elevated... as a natural trainee synthesis drops much faster post workout
no i do. I just think 99.99999% of people who think they are overtraining... really aren't.
trust me... if you were overtrained, you would KNOW it
i gotcha.. your sayin alot of people mistake overtraining for fatigue... i just took a week off training b/c i felt i was overtrained. i was tired as hell all the time and i had NO appetite at all.. i was basically forcing myself to eat. and t hen i felt like puking before and after all my meals, esp in the morning. after about the 4th or 5th day of rest i started getting my appetite back and now im back to eating like a beast... sound like i was overtrained to you?
Sometimes even if you are not physically over training your body, it's possible to just simply need some time away from the gym. Every now and then I just need to take it easy, just relax on the couch and unwind from the gym.
For me anyway.

haha, i feel that man... which reminds me, one of my buddies is a powerlifter and he always preaches that even though your muscles may be rested that you can still overwork your Central Nervous System
