dunno if this should be in the nutrients/diet section or not but because im into natural BB'ing i'll place this thread here. anyway my question is: does alcohol have any direct effects apon the muscles? and if so, what are the effects?

decreased protein synthesis
decreased testosteron
decreased GH
directly inhibits protein synthesis
increases abdominal fat deposition

this is only with large quantities... ie more than 5 drinks in a sitting, but if you are getting drunk you are DEFINATELY hurting your gains

this is probably stupid but ive heard that in small quanitys it a stimulant like a shot or less, do any of you know what i does at those quantities

it's in the same family as ether or valium...may seem like a stimulant initially because it "loosens" you up but actualy it relaxes you and your inhibotions come down it moderation it is healthy as in 1 or 2 drinks..I see lot's of guys come home from college fat as pigs cause all they did was get drunk and party..
