Hey y'all this is one of my first posts on these forums, i've been on others most of which has been at bodybuilding.com.

I recently had an experience that I want to share and ask for y'alls too. Well one happened about a year ago. I posted my pics on bodybuilding.com asking for peoples critiques when I was 12 weeks out from my very first show. Everyone said no one in hell I would be ready to go at all. I trained harder every day, I was pushed my good friend John Hope, and we made it to the Dave Goodin's Shredder in August...
I came away with 2 trophies. One for 1st place teen divison and the other 1st place mens' novice heavyweight. No one thought I had it in me and I wanted it that much more...it felt great

Now for more recently. My buddy who also trained and dieted me for my first show is doing Miles Stovalls show in San Antonio on Oct. 14th..he and I are both in the open after winning at the Shredder, and will be looking to get his pro card. He told me he considers us equals now, and I said well i'm thinking about coming to compete...and he says something of the nature of well when it comes to the stage i'm still the master and you are the apprentice...that lighted a fire inside me like nothing else...I am now 12 weeks away from the Alamo Showdown Classic in which I will be goin head to head with my former trainer (We are still best of friends) in the open class, in which I plan on beating him (even tho he is 28 and I am 20), and competing in the overall in which a pro card is up for grabs.

Well if you got thru all that please share ur comments and your experiences too.

-Dave

overcoming obstacles and proving people wrong always makes for excellent motivaiton... but in the end you have to have it inside you to begin with. Other things can help, but true motivation really comes from within :)
