Hey Lane and other fellow BBD folk I haven't seen in a while.

Haven't posted here in a while, been busy but I had a question regarding diet and noticed the new Natural Lane section and figured you'd be the perfect person to ask.

Alright I switch every now and then between full body and split training. Currently I have been on a cutting cycle, and I've lost a lot of fat.. too much fat. My problem is I used to always be a skinny kid, I gained a good amount of muscle constantly bulking(99% clean) over the course of 2 1/2 years. When I cut the muscle definition etc is great, but with the diet I have been following I constantly keep losing weight.

I started the cut at about 180 and now I am at 150lbs. I mostly lost strength on my deadlifts/squats.

Now my question is, I currently am doing Full body work outs every other day with HIIT Sprint/Stairs inbetween. I am eating abot 1g of protein per lb of body weight and same goes for carbs. My fat is usually about 50-60g.

I think I need to cut some of my cardio out and maybe limit it to 1-2 a week. What my goals for now are since I have gotten to the cut stage I want to be, is gain weight but VERY slowly trying to maintain low BF. I know I will put on some fat, but I think Full body workouts coupled with a clean diet should limit/make the fat non existent.

My question is what should I do in terms of diet? Up my protein/carbs to about 200g of each a day? I just want to stop losing the weight and gain it slowly, I love doing the HIIT but I will limit it as with my fast metabolism it makes the weight drop even faster.

Thanks.

slowly add in carbs until you start slowly gaining weight... around 1/4 to 1/2 lb per week

FYI... it's spelled Layne, not Lane :)

Sorry about the mis-spell, Layne.

Gotya, so just slowly add carbs until weight starts to rise again.

Also for carbs I pretty much stick to mixed nuts (get good fat out of them also), whole wheat bread, wheat pasta, and sometimes brown rice.

That should be sufficent for carbs correct?

Thanks.

edit:

Also, What I did before for my full bodies when I thought I got pretty good gaines was 4-5days a week M-F I'd train fullbody workouts every day then take the weekends off.

I want to limit my HIIT cardio days just because I think they take too much weight off too fast.

So what I was thinking is M, T, Th, F I'll train full body, take Wednesday and Saturday off then just put in one day of HIIT on Sunday to keep my cardiovascular endurance/stamina up.

Do you think I could get away w/ more of the HIIT? Similar to what I do now w/ Train, HIIT, Train, HIIT, etc?

You shouldn't rely too heavily on mixed nuts for carbs.
Nuts are a great source of efa's but to get even 20-25 grams of carbs you would be taking in anywhere from 42 to 48 grams of fat. Use nuts for fat source.
Stick to brown rice, oatmeal, yams/sweet potatos, whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, and green veggies for carb sources.

Ya I don't eat the mixed nuts as a carb source, like you said I'd have to eat a large amount of fat in order to get a small amount of carbs.

I use the nuts and peanut butter strictly for my fat source.
