Yeah its pretty cheezy, I still have the box set of DVDs though. Haha. I found it entertaining despite its lameness.
There was only one season here in the US. I heard it was because Disney is part of ESPN and the show was too full of controversial issues for Disney. Not sure though.
The show is about a fake football team that deals with every possible controversial issue imaginable like Tech said, there is one gay player, one that uses drugs, one thats a head case because his brother died, they have a horribly corrupt owner, etc. Its quite dramatic.
