800 Pound Man Removed From Home

Dundalk, MD (WJZ) Crews from the Baltimore County Fire Department removed an 800 pound man they say hasn't left his home in at least two years.

Fire Department crews removed 38-year-old John Keitz from his home in the 8500 block of Kavanaugh Road shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday. They say they had to take him to a doctor's appointment

Fire Department officials say they had to use special equipment borrowed from the National Aquarium to move the 800 pound Dundalk man. Keitz was loaded onto a flatbed utility truck and taken to Bayview Medical Center where he was treated for asthma and fluid build-up.

The incident is not reported as a medical emergency.

Neighbors say Kietz was involved in a similar rescue six years ago.

Fire Captain Thomas Kimbel says it used to be easier to move Keitz when he lived in his old house -- with sliding glass doors.
