If they're taking food or clothes...then even though it's stealing, just let it go. They don't need TV's and jewelry... Or, why are they stealing from each other, if they want to survive, then they need to share.

if i was living in that city, was dirt poor and had no car and no money, i wouldve grabbed a backpack, got all the food i could, and started my ass walking. might seem unrealistic...but thats exactly what i would have done. another thing: all i see on the news is people being so damn pissed off at the government for not being like fuckin santa clause and showing up with everything they need immediately. this is a ridiculously massive undertaking. the affected area is bigger than the ENTIRE COUNTRY OF GREAT BRITAIN. news reporters are bitching about how theyve seen better refugee camps in third world countries, which is all well and good, except for the fact that those camps have been there for months, some of them years, and even those camps werent set up in a matter of days. i strongly believe that the government couldnt have responded much faster than they have been.

I doubt the affected area was bigger that Britain. Where did you hear that? Look at what they did when the tsunami hit, and compare that to this. They were there from the very first day.

the affected area is 90,000 square-miles...approximately the size of Kansas.

i read it on some article on msn.com this morning. i tried to find it again to paste the link, but couldnt find it. and with the tsunami, i remember people bitching then too that aid didnt get there fast enough. so if help isnt there pretty much instantly, people are going to bitch.

I really had no idea that New Orleans and the surrounding cities were 60-70% black

but as soon as I saw all the people on the news channels, and how most were black...I was just waiting for everyone to jump on the "it's racist" bandwagon...apparently this is the first racist hurricane

New Orleans is New Orleans because of all the African Americans that reside there.
