IT depends what you mean by how seriously do we take them. The videos were definitely deperessing, but really expressed how someone may feel if they become imprisoned by their ownself thoughts/actions. Personally i unfortunetly believe/know that we are all capable of "committing" these 7 sins, and most of us do. Its when you let these consume you and you stop being in control that they become "deadly".

Although alot of people will disagree and say that i'm only saying this because i'm religious, but what most people dont see is that relgion and most beliefs set forth by each religion is done so in our best interest. IF you can name one good (relative, but certainly i mean bringing about the most happiness, health, longevity, and other such things not just for self but for others as well) thing that comes from any of these then i would bow out and admit to be wrong.

is there something opposite this, like things that people will strive to acheive can u please list them because honestly I believe these are wrong but I mean... how many people do u know that have reached a level of self-actualization where they are content with there life. life is filled with so much suffering and it is my firm opinion that if u indulge in these things without being completely lost in them you can reach a happiness that u wouldnt otherwise because u were able to materialize and identify your suffering. will somebody who is happy plz lead me in the right direction because honestly right now the world is so fucked up i dont know what to believe.

I 4m Legand, i doubt i or anyone else will be able to give you the answer your looking for. If you believe that you can indluge in these and find a state of happiness... why havent you done so?

Although this world does have many many faults, most of which we cannot change, so its best to accept it for what it is. This always leads me back to the serenity prayer (it doesnt neccessarly have to be a prayer more of a reassurance of self if you do not believe in anything else)

"God grant me the sarinity to accept the things i cannot change, courage to change the things i can, and the wisdom to know the diffrence"

All seven deadly sins are meant as extremes.

Life is what you make it, I4m Legend. What you see is what you get. Seek and you shall find. You are your own master. You wanna be a dog? Be a dog. You wanna be a robber? Be a robber. You wanna be a high class laywer? Be a high class laywer. It all depends on you my friend. What you belivie, what you wanna do, who you wanna be with, how you want to deal with things, how you want to portray yourself and so on. All these things depends on you. YOU are the master in your own life. Everyday you are waking up you controll the earth/universe in your own mind and soul. Sorry, had to get that out, but you seem lost. And you cant really define happines either I guess.

But to your first question, yes you have the seven heavenly virtures which opposes the seven deadly sins.

Remember my friend, its all on you. :)

Pride (Latin, superbia)

Vanitas with her mirror. Painting by Titian, c. 1515Main article: Pride
In almost every list pride (or hubris or vanity) is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to give compliments to others though they may be deserving of them,[citation needed] and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God). Dante's definition was "love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one's neighbor." In Jacob Bidermann's medieval miracle play, Cenodoxus, pride is the deadliest of all the sins and leads directly to the damnation of the titulary famed Parisian doctor. In perhaps the best-known example, the story of Lucifer, pride (his desire to compete with God) was what caused his fall from Heaven, and his resultant transformation into Satan. Vanity and narcissism are prime examples of this sin. In Dante's Divine Comedy, the penitent were forced to walk with stone slabs bearing down on their backs in order to induce feelings of humility.

Guess most bodybuilders are fucked, lol!

well im just saying that i cant think of one time in my life where I have truly been happy. Honestly I feel as if I aspired to become a great person mentally, physically and emotionally it would in the end be squandered by my own selfish, lustful and evil thoughts that I still have. I feel no matter how much good I do or how hard I try I will NEVER escape these demons... so at this point in my life I just say fuck it. I was saying that maybe I should try to embrace and indulge in my suffering because I have been running from it since I knew it existed and that hasnt worked. I just feel like there is no way to win.
thanks for the comments too but true I understand that I could be anything I want to be but no matter what I become I will still be tormented by the evil that is inside of me. Jake thank you for that response but I dont know... god did not grant me the wisdom to know the difference. I'm not blaming god or the universe I just feel that either my perception is very off or I was meant to suffer.

Just don't play into it then it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Quit trying to be a perfectionist and that will free you from a lot of things. Live in the present rather than the past or the future. You can control what happens in the present not what happened in the past or happens in the future.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from Ghandi. Don't just read them but think about each one and let it penetrate you.

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

There is nothing that wastes the body like worry, and one who has any faith in God should be ashamed to worry about anything whatsoever.

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed.

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment, full effort is full victory.

Poverty is the worst form of violence.

Nobody can hurt me without my permission.

Nearly everything you do is of no importance, but it is important that you do it.

Man should forget his anger before he lies down to sleep.

It is the quality of our work which will please God and not the quantity.

It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.

I do not want to foresee the future. I am concerned with taking care of the present. God has given me no control over the moment following.

Honestly, I 4m Legend, I think you need to find out what makes you happy and just trust yourself. If something is not working, do something else. Dont care what anyone else says. What people think and say doesnt matter anyway. You should never be concerned of what other people think of you.

Hey, Freak - thats a great listing, really.
