Anybody ever play it? I was wondering because I'm supposed to practice with the club team here at my college. I really wanted to get into it coming into college but decided against it because I wasn't the strongest or most in shape. Those who have played, or anyone for that matter, what do you think of it? More than just strength and size required? I saw one practice and felt like there was a lot of agility needed to be successful, but i dunno.

i played rugby for my school team and a town team. i would definitely advise you to try it. it is great for strength fitness and the girls go wild for rugby players. the idea that it solely involves strength is bullshit, first and foremost, it really depends on what position you play. agility is most required with wingers and full back. my old school team's full back was about 5'3" tall and no heavier than 120lbs but fuck me he could run! go for it man, if you feel like you aren't big enough, go for the wing

Thanks man. I always thought it was a really interesting sport and wanted to try it but like I said, I didn't know if I'd be strong enough/the right size and didn't want some massive dude barreling over me/separating my shoulder when he'd plow me over. I'll be giving it a go tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

lol ye the tackles can be pretty harsh. trust me man, i was in your position too, but then i started training, got tackled a few times at training and it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. ye i got hurt on a couple of occassions but nothing too serious - plus the girls loved it lol you wont believe how much i milked the sympathy card haha after i really got into it, i started playing for the town team - now thats when shit gets serious. i started playing with the big boys who had been playing rugby all of their life lol i stopped because of time though. i had no time for it anymore - it was either rugby or bodybuilding

i play rugby for my school

and i am the furthest thing from heaviest, best physique, strongest, or tallest

i am 5'10
152 lbs

lol and i am like the top 2-3 backs on my team.

the only reason is because i am fast....FAST and i just run through people when i an, or else, you know the drill rugby players.... get tackled and drop facing your side.

but its a great sport for you to get big because you get hit everywhere and it forces you to work out
