Just wondering, anybody on here drink, and when I say drink I mean drink heavily until the point of waking up the next morning not knowing what the hell happened the night before. Reason I ask is I'm a college student and all, so the pressure to drink is all around, you know, go out, get shitfaced on the weekends. Thing is, I really don't feel the pressure to conform to any of this, but I also feel like somehow I'm missing out on a part of life because it seems that nowadays, to put it plainly, no one gives a shit and thats all that they can come up with when "fun" comes to mind and I'm the guy left in the dorm room looking for new metal to listen to, or on here looking at threads trying to expand my knowledge. I mean, I want to get in shape and don't want to be counterproductive because I figure 6 games of beer pong every weekend wouldn't bode well for my physique. So I guess I just wanted to know, is there anyone out there who feels this way too, or am I all alone on this?

You're not alone bro, in the past (3+ years ago) when I was quite inmature I would go out and get wasted just for the hell of it. Lately if I'm invited to a drunkathon of sorts, I most likely skip it and do something productive with my time instead of cutting down on my sleep time or missing a meal, etc. I don't do this ALL the time, but most of the times.. I do have a weakness for casino's though.

Thanks. Its just good to know that I'm not alone in thinking the way I do. I mean all my friends do it and I have nothing against anyone who does it, its just that if it comes down to having a choice to do it, I would rather use my time for something productive and not waste my money. I just always felt like I was odd.

I feel it's important to have a balance. Some times i will go out and have a good night with my mates, only rarly i go above 5 or so drink's ova the whole night. Up until the other w.e which was my best mates bday i had 6mths with out a drink. Sometimes it even worked out to my advantage becuz my drunk mates would brag to girl's y i wasnt drinking. Do your own thing and most people will respect you for it. But have a balance at the same time. P.s no drinking really helps with your training.

Well, thats the thing. I'm not opposed to having a good time at all, like a night of drinking shooting pool sounds pretty good to me. Its just I know that when my friends go out to drink, its going to hard stuff and they're gonna hit it hardcore (keg stands, jungle juice, lots and lots of beer pong, any other game that involves drinking) and I know that where they're going, everyone else is going to be going at it the same way and have no desire to be in that kind of environment.

^I know what you're saying bro, you probably don't wanna be in that kind of environment surrounded by 10-15 drunk guys and you're the only one sober. I do go out from time to time when I feel like I need to stress out or laugh it up with some friends, but I rarely get wasted now.

I'm not telling you to be a saint, just do what you feel like doing and don't let others pressure you into doing things you don't want to do. It's that simple bro.

Thanks man. Like I said, I'm all for a few during a game on ESPN or some pool or something, I just never understood how not remembering last night could equate to one hell of a good time.

i drink occassionally - i depends on the occassion though. sometimes i will get absolutely shitfaced but other times, i will just have a few beers. i think drinking is perfectly good for psychological health but like crazytomie said; there has to be balance

I've always seen that guiness is a really good tasting beer; I've been keen on finding out if thats the case.

I drink one or two Guiness' every other month when my brother drags me out for a pool match, lol...I'm far from drinking it for it's taste, so whoever said it's nice tasting beer is a tool

It tastes very strong & bitter, I just drink it coz it's possibly the healthiest beer out there to have, full of iron & goodness, & puts hair on your chest lol
