I'll be graduating college this semester and it has been on my mind big time lately....

so who else is going to be graduating soon? What are you guys planning on doing after college (or high school if you're younger)?? Anyone else having anxieties about it? Just curious...

Here's my advice:

1. Get an internship... - I know... I think they are dumb too

2. Getting a job is a contact sport- who you know not what you know AND the more jobs you apply for the more likely you are to get an interview.

3. Google yourself and make sure you don't have anything that needs to be taken down.

I agree Freak, internships prior to graduation are extremely important. I've already done two with relatively high-profile companies, and I've got a handful of interviews set up thus far. I'm not particularly worried about post-graduation job hunting actually, I'm specializing in a field (Supply Chain Management) that has a lot of jobs and a lot of employers actively seeking qualified people to fill those jobs. My anxiety comes more from the idea of post-college life and working in a job I'll just be doing to live comfortably until I can afford graduate school/decide on and pursue what I really want to do, whatever that ends up being.

Thanks Bhana, I'm studying Business Administration with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management (sounds riveting, I know). I'm planning on getting a job here in southern California and working for a few years until I go back to Colorado for grad school or just to work. Good luck with all your endeavors bro, the most important thing IMO is identifying what you really want to do and actually go for it. Sounds like you're on the right track!

Quantitative methods for business was my favorite class for my degree, corporate finance- second, and operations management was third. Didn't take a class specifically about supply chain management but kinda covered it in a few.

Freak you just made me cringe man lol. Management Science (Quantitative Methods for Business) and Ops Management are the two most hated classes in my business school, I can't believe they were two of your favorites! You probably got a good overview of SCM from your Ops class tho, the two are pretty interconnected. Did you get a Business Admin. degree?

Yep businss admin and 2 classes away from a major in finance. I could have been happy taking quant methods and then getting a degree in biology or engineering. It was the most applicable/interesting class I have taken to date.
