Hey guys need some documented opinions from others to support my claim in favor of one of these being safer.

What is more dangerous: MMA or boxing (no kenney no bareknuckle) I mean pro boxing and pro mma.

if its by death rate i think boxing. reason why, in MMA the fighters are better trained to handle specific blows that could be dangerous and deadly. I still haven't seen boxers trained like a MMA fighter to get their body to sustain dealy blows. In boxing you spar with another partner but thats just to perfect and keep skills sharp. thats what i think freak. i don't know if others might agree with me or disagree. And i like boxing a little more than MMA. so boxing is more dangerous than MMA.

boxing is about cumalative punishment meted out to the head which, to me, seems far more dangerous, given what we know about long term brain injuries, than MMA. That and the standing 8 count seems like a bad addition.

Boxing in my opinion is more dangerous in the long term, UFC is definatly more dangerous in the short term asin what could happen during a match. 1 extra inch on a submission hold can spell nerve damage or a broken arm.

lol thanks for the heads up Freak.

im not sure, both have dangers. like the nasty head blows in boxing (as mentioned), alot of damage can be caused by a good head blow, eg brain damage, amnesia etc
on the other hand mma has equally dangerous moves and tactics, submissions for example

i think boxing would probably be that little bit more dangerous because alot of people go into boxing as amateurs and purely for wanting to learn to fight. whereas mma fighters are experienced in martial arts and clearly know what they are doing

Boxing is IMO more dangerous. Its rare to see a boxer throw in the towel.MMA fighters tap out when they know they are in a bad position.Maybe boxers are more stubborn lol

Boxing is more dangourous. There is alot more shots being taken to the head than in an mma fight.

Boxing more dangerous- you are forced to stand up and take hits.

MMA-you can protect yourself and grab

However, a MMA career can end quicker than a boxer's

Boxing is more dangerous long term, especially on the heavier weight classes. You may see more broken limbs/torn tendons, etc on MMA but since there are much more ways to end a fight than just repeated head shots and maybe the occasional liver punch, there is less risk of permanent brain damage.. although you have to take into account fighting styles aswell

boxing, but a knockout with a leg kick to the head is pretty devastating way to be knocked out
