1. Algae. they release oxygen as a waste product of photosynthesis. their net oxygen output is higher than that produced by all the trees and other land based plants put together.
2. Aristarchus of Samos, born 310bc (1800years before Copernicus). he also calculated the relative sizes and distances od the Earth, Moon and Sun and worked out that the heavens were not a celestial sphere, but a universe of almosy infinite size. no one paid much attention to his theory.
