bro i had the same thing as you. i questioned my self a lot sometimes. but its just that part of life and the game. just take a break from it and find the fire that use to fuel you when you were an animal at it. or if you cant find that same fire that use to fuel you find a new one, remember its about passion. you never lost it, its their just find it. don't quit and keep getting brolic.

If you are bulking, you are gonna get slow. I was a former college soccer player so I know how you feel. Football is not a muscleman sport. You can be a bodybuilder and a soccer/football player but it dependent on how big do you really want to be. If your goal is to be a pro football player, then I say forget gaining bulk. Get lean and quick. Do sprint/suicide drills to get your speed and timing up. Lose the fat! Scouts are not going to want a fat soccer player running up the field unless your name is maradona. For me it was different, I was a keeper and extremely underweight for a keeper so they forced me to work out. To me its your speed and agility that needs fixing to compensate for your weight gain. Get a weighted vest and do cardio or sprints with that.

Good luck

Pierre

Thanks Julio and Pierre for the boost of confidence and tips... but Could the problem also maybe be that since I started bodybuilding.. I never ever worked my legs once I've rarely done cardio.. maybe I've got to build the leg muscles.. its just nowadays my legs feel weak and like jelly.. strength I've definatly got.. I just feel something's holding me back.. and yh Julio I've lost that fire the passion..

sorry if I sound like im whining guys.. maybe someone knows some speed programs or drills that I can use.. Bigpoppa I've heard about suicide drills.. I'll check those out.

genghis i actually am playing college ball now, but recently gave it up this past season due to an injury and had to get surgery. i weighed in at 150lbs going into my freshman year of college and was getting pushed off the ball constantly, i was an outside midfielder so i did the quick routes to the corners to cross back post all day. speed was there, size and strength were not. i played freshman-junior year and now being in my senior year i redshirted. bodybuilding does not go hand in hand with soccer (football). bulking was not a good idea, simply because your increasing your size which will decrease your speed if its not done right, by your bulk you also increased your bf which also slows you down. look at every pro player and you'll see a lean physic, typically backs like outside fullbacks are larger individuals as well, they dont need the speed necessarily they use there size and strength to defend properly. typically the larger guys have amazing foot skills so that is why they're around. when you used to play like ronaldinho you used your speed to your advantage, now since you've picked up some weight what you used to do on the pitch doesnt work, so now your style of play will be different... i just basically decided to myself what i really wanted to do, and giving up soccer was hard but was right at the time. im going to be graduating soon, moving on with life and yes i had fun, but im not going to be going pro so why delay. wakeboarding and college and work are my 3 priorities now, bodybuilding i can continue with all 3.

drills you can find all over the net, good ones to build you up are suicides yes, but also parachute drills, any length sprints also. when you're in the gym to lean down go low weight high rep. stretch as often as possible. also build your core (abs) up and continual foot speed training, take a ball out to a field and just do step overs constantly, cutbacks also, work on just quick speed bursts changing direction. box jumps are also good!

At the moment since Im training at home.. my back injurys nearly healed.. Im using just some basic 30kgs.. and doing 110 reps.. thats is wayy too low right?

I really need to work on the speed bursts changing direction...

its still part of puberty, yes at 16 you are older but you're going to be experiencing the growth of your maturity, also other life factors play a roll such as girlfriends, school, work, and whatever else comes along. you're almost an adult so naturally you tend to act like one, but at the same time you're a kid still so you want to live it up. just focus on each day as it comes bro, roll with it, dont stress the small things. realize that this is only a mental lapse and can be fixed, so again...take each day as it comes, dont worry about where you will be a week from now, or a month, or a year, just worry about the day at hand and you'll find yourself alot more laid back which is what you want.

...hope this helps!

dont bulk if it is brining you down. you can still grow and stay lean...it will just take longer. it might not be bodybuilding, if you have been playing football for ages, you may just be bored of it (without realising it) or maybe things are difficult at home and is affecting your performance

Be a soccer player 1st, a body builder later. soccer wont always be there. the iron always will......

do you have a strength and conditioning coach at your school? i didnt catch if you were a college player or not, but i know from first hand experience, strength coaches dont like you doing too much extra work on your own. they design the program exactly for what you need. if you do extra , it could lead to injuries or something else that will affect your performance.

i used to lift alot during my college baseball season... didnt do me any good brother. just affected my performance on the field negatively
