Yeah, cracking the fingers can lead to arthritis after a while..

Cracking the neck and back can lead to mis-alignment of the spine and neck. Doing so can lead to several different problems as it will also de-generate the bones in your spine and neck, causing the nerves to weaken as well.

If you do crack ANYTHING, just do the fingers. I remember reading before that cracking the fingers is okay because the crack you hear when craking them is just a small pocket of fluid poping and you hear the resulting POP!. But cracking the neck isn't good for you. Like bboy said, it will lead to a mis-alligned spine.

too much leads to dry pops, increases chance of arthritis, hence why your joints swell up after years of popping. ^^^

I have to disagree with the myths guys.
My spine was severely out of line and I go to a chiro 3 days a week and she has been cracking my spine all the way up and twist my neck to pop it too.I have b4 and after xrays where it is almost aligned again,
The poppin you hear are gas pockets that form between the joints and its being released.
Thats why you feel like you need to be popped the joints actually swel with gas.Its an old docs tale that says it will lead to arthritis but it can be dangerous to ask any dick to pop your neck for you lol

Chiropractors are BullSh*t

I suggest you watch this episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit. It's about alternative medicine. Pay attention to the part about Chriopractic Therapy.
