Ok guys, you all know i'm in college and i'm enjoying myself, anyway. I went to a club event the other day and there was a table that was VERY empty and hardly any signatures on the sign in sheet for a MMA club. So, guess who signed up? Me.

This is what I want to know, for any of you guys that do MMA training, what can I expect? Learning curve wise, what would you guys rate it?

I'm still 100 percent focused on bodybuilding, so I just want some advice, comments, spam it. Dungeon rules.

Start stretching for about 30mins/day. Work on core training (very important). Be VERY respectful to EVERYONE you come in contact with at your jujitsu school. Don't be afraid to volunteer, be on time, keep a back-up uniform in your car and be prepared to practice each new move you learn at least 250 times. This is the ONLY way you will MASTER the technique. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

woh.. lol thefreak sounds like a Jui Jitsu guru, have you ever tried or done it before, also I prefer Kick boxing or boxing << but that isnt really relevant

Thanks Freak.

I'll definatly start at the stretching, I think my core strength is pretty solid from playing football alot, but i'll gauge it as I go on sparring matches.

They also have boxing training that I can go on as well. It would be boxing on mondays or tuesday and jujitsu on thursdays.

I haven't done any jujitsu at all. Going in as a newbie pretty much.

And sure its revelant, "I'm still 100 percent focused on bodybuilding, so I just want some advice, comments, spam it. Dungeon rules."

Nice layout there thomas, but trust me dude, Boxing keeps you very hyper sharp, Man it got me buzzing so much that I'd virtually punch anything, ranging from lampost's to fridges to ice... even to my PS2.. << but I learnt my lesson after that ordeal.. oh yeah..

I want to get into boxing for the technique. I used to always through punches after I worked out, just trying to see how far back I could hit the heavy back.

Quick tip, when your punching or Boxing.. only put force into the punch, right at the tip or end of the punch.. its hard to explain, but I can 100% guarantee you, you will get much much more force behind your punch...

I use it all the time.. the tips from the LEGEND, none other than Bruce lee, POW!

I know how to punch correctly. I use my legs in time with the swing to get the most out of the hit. Hitting without legs really takes away alot of power from the hits, I was surprised at how much stronger I can punch with leg force.
