ive got the money to buy me an electric guitar but im not sure what one to get..any ideas on brand and model?
i was thinking of getting an GRG170DX from Ibanez but i dont wanna waste my money if its not gonna make the sound im after

ibanez good choice, your after heavy metal i assume so id say if you got an ibanez see if its heavy enough for you, if not rip out the hardware and put some killer EMG pickups in it, or DiMarzio if you like to shred. also the amp you choose has to be a good one otherwise there is no point on having a killer guitar. i think you should go to a couple of guitar shops and have a play around on a couple and see what type you like and choose from there.

yeah i was told Ibanez was good for beginners but im not sure how much of a shredder i can be with one of those..
is there a guitar for beginners tailored to shredding??

ever heard of a little sombody called john petrucci? made a name for himself while using ibanez, dragon force? ibanez, rusty cooley? ibanez, steve vai, joe satriani, the list goes on my friend, lol i think it would be fair to say that the best shredders in the world use ibanez

Ibanez and Jackson are THE shred guitars... thin necks... light body's clear high end...

If your looking for shred and want kind of a cheapish guitar then look at the Korean made Ibanez RG series guitars ive got one ... and even though ive repalced a few of the parts it was still an awesome guitar to shred on

aight fair enough..got an ashton now but that can be my guitar just for now ill get an ibanez when im more competant...
