My Dell DJ has gone kerplunk. Shouldn't have been jogging with it, but oh well. I think the shaking has done the harddrive in. What kind of mp3 players do you guys use? I've been going sans music for over a month now and I'm ready to go buy a new mp3 player me thinks.

so far it's been the only thing I can think of that makes sense. I used just over 2g on my DJ so I think a 2-4G nano is probably going to be the way to go. Plus if i remember right, the type of memory a nano has isn't effected by excessive shaking (jogging).

8gb ipod nano.

For the gym, 8gb is overkill, but its definatly a necessity for those long flights and layovers.

I've been thinking about that too a bit actually. I got a Treo a couple weeks ago. it only has 64mb with it, but it has room for up to a 4g card. My only concern was whether or not it could take the beating.

hmm if your looking for hardout durable gear, you probably wanna stick with ipod with a thick rubber shield. depending on cellphones, some provide pretty poor durability, and depending on the type of cellphone, you would probably also find a lack of sound settings or quality. I think there are some nice ipods out there that are very small (the new ipod shuffle) which is only a clip

I would have thought the same, but the treo I tested on a hike once. Since it has internet I tuned it into a local radio station via their online feed and got amazing digital quality. My bigger concern is the fact that it costs twice what an iPod costs, and I use it for work (email and whatnot) so damaging it could be bad...

the rubber shield/iPod combo I think is going to be the way to go. I'm not happy with itunes right now... but I'll probably adjust. Is there a way to load songs on an iPod from more than one computer? Yesterday when I was playing with my brother's Nano it wouldn't let me load new songs from a different computer unless I was willing to delete all the old stuff first.

what's that, like 4g? I thought I only had a couple gigs used on the Dell DJ< but I'm already about maxing out my brothers 2gig nano and I'm not nearly as full as I'd like to be :(

thats a good question. i had a friend that had an ipod and tried to copy some songs to an ipod shuffle. apparently you had to install new software because it was not compatible after it did that, the files couldnt work and all the songs were left useless. the only songs she could get where the ones already on her ipod..... so yeah that would be one thing to consider. i dont have an ipod myself so im not exactly sure about the software thing.
