I would have thought the same, but the treo I tested on a hike once. Since it has internet I tuned it into a local radio station via their online feed and got amazing digital quality. My bigger concern is the fact that it costs twice what an iPod costs, and I use it for work (email and whatnot) so damaging it could be bad...
the rubber shield/iPod combo I think is going to be the way to go. I'm not happy with itunes right now... but I'll probably adjust. Is there a way to load songs on an iPod from more than one computer? Yesterday when I was playing with my brother's Nano it wouldn't let me load new songs from a different computer unless I was willing to delete all the old stuff first.
