my friends problem, need some help.

it starts but it takes like an hour and he cant even get on his messenger or the internet or download music

anybody have an idea?

i suggested they just reboot the entire system and start fresh, reload windows

could be spyware or a virus on his computer... tell him to download the free trial version of zonealarm internet security or if he's already got anti-virus/spyware software then he should update it and do a scan

could also be his internet/network or router settings... tell him to contact his isp's helpdesk for more help with this

it's a spyware. try to download a anti-spyware and anti-virus. but the system remains slow and still cant connect to MSN, try to format the system. install a new windows for it. try to contact a technician. or if you know how to fix it, do it!

guarantee if he doesn't have an antivirus & antispyware, all that stuff is on his computer.

sounds like he just needs to do a clean up.
