I'm going to start a routine as well as a diet as of now but I need advice if what Im going to follow seems right in order to bulk some muscle. The picture shown is me as of 10-7-09, 185 lb, 5'7'', 24 yrs old, and took a bf reading of 20% although I think it is higher (reading was taken around 2 pm).

I calculated that I should consume 2500 calories divided into 5 meals (maybe 6), 185g-200g protein total, 40 g fat total, 335 g carbs total. I plan on eating lean meats and lots of tuna as well a chicken breast for my protein. One more thing, I will be replacing 3 meals for a milk shake (1/2 cup oats, 1 cup milk, 30 grams whey protein, 1 banana. Taken in the morning, pre workout and post workout).

Routine will be on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Work two muscles at a time.

My biggest concern and where I need the most advice is my nutrition, what do you guys think? Are the carbs too high based on my body type? Should I take in more calories? Thank you in advanced.

hey, looks like your goin in the right direction morning and preworkout shakes will be fine but i would stay away from the milk and oats for your post shake they are slow digesting carbs and i would choose a faster carb so that your muscles will benefit from the workout i would actually have a 40 gr protein shake imediatly after your workout, then get some whole food in about 30 min later like chicken and white rice and lay off the carbs last two meals before bed throw some natty p/nut butter in a shake for your last meal to keep from fasting while you sleep...hope this helps bro good luck

Just my opinion and take it for what it is worth. You macros are way off in my opinon, 2500cals is a good start but this would be the breakdown I would use:
Protein: 300g ( 1,200 cals )
Carbs: 200g ( 800 cals )
Fats: 55g ( 500 cals )
Lose all dairy from your diet, or just one serving a day. Watch your tuna fish would recommend no more than 2 cans a day, take with a healthly fat, I usually put in about 1 tbs of extra virgin olive oil and use spices and various mustards for flavor. Try and make sure your meals look like this protein/ fat or protein/ carbs, sometimes it can not be helped mixing all three but make sure the carb or fat is very min. compared to it counterpart. Would cut all carbs off around 4 hrs before bed and some fat is ok but don't go overboard. Here is an example of my diet take a look and see how I put it together, also in the check out the Nutrition and read Layne Nortons thread, really good. Hope this helps you out.
