I know my legs need to get bigger and I need to gain mass, anything other than that, I'm completely open to suggestions.
P.S. Anyone know the qualifications and weight classes for amateur bodybuilding contests. Also, the classes of bench press competitions. Is it determined by the number you get when you divide your bench 1 rep max by your bodyweight.

Heh you're the other guy in the pictures... threw me off cause your buddy just posted his pics.

Amatuer bodybuilding classes work depending on who shows up. It could be just by height, weight, or both. As far as classifications go, as long as you register and pay, you can show up.

You need to be more specific when asking about bench comps as there are loads. Typically its under 21 weight groups then all ages weight groups. You can sometimes compete in both. They typically range from 5-7.5 kilo difference from class to class but all comps are different. You need to be more specific on what comps you want to go in.

Ha yea he's my brother in law. Thanks for the compliments. My calves are probably the most unsymmetrical part of my body. Anyone have some good workouts for those? As far as the bench press goes, my buddy said something when you take your 1 rep max mine 230 and divide it by body weight 130 you get a decimal 1.7. And that's how they classify you. I don't want to get in serious ones right now, but I do like competition.

1. Barbell / Smith Machine standing calf raises.
2. Seated calf raises
3. Leg press calf raises, ( without unlocking the safety pins)
4. Donkey style calf raises.

Yea the standing ones on the smith are probably my favorite. I get a huge stretch when I go and steal on of those step up things from the cardio department. How often would you work your calves? I think for Arnold it was every other day, any ideas?

How often do you work your legs? Arnie was on gear.. please don't base your workout routine with his frequency. He recovered faster than we and worked out a lot.

I have never heard of that before. If your talking about BWLA or british then they go by weight catagories i.e. 82.5-90kg e.t.c. Ive never heard of that classification before. May be another league. I thought they all run the same as BWLA even the worlds run like that. Do you have the name of the organization?

they dont' classify you in anything other than your weight class. what they measure is the % that you bench over your bodyweight.

You sure bro. I just judged a british comp a few weeks ago and it ran by weight groups not by how much % you lift over your bodyweight.

It's done by weight classes and how much a certain person can lift in his/her weight class. I know a 7 time powerlifting champ. It's pretty simple really. Go in. Compete in your weight class. 3 lifts per excersize (bench, squat, deadlift... or only bench and deads if it's a push/pull meet) and u can do an optional 4th lift if you're going for a record. There ya go dude!
