Not exactly. Accutane does NOT cure acne. It suppresses the symptoms very efficiently (this effect can last for a long time) and the body will get ride of the acne by itself. If your body wouldn't get ride of it by itself naturally at some point, Accutane won't do it either. So if you are 16 and you take Accutane, it is very likely that it will "cure" your condition. If you are 35 and have had acne for 20 years, then it prolly will not "cure" your acne.
If I use myself as an example of this. I'm 30 and have had acne for 16 years or so. I've been on Roaccutan (Accutane in Europe) 4 times and still have acne (zits, blackheads, scarring and a very oily skin). Probably will have it until my testosterone levels drop significantly (somewhere after I turn 60.........
