ill try to get some pics of my bro from the front soon and post them up here.

right now i am trying to slowly drop some weight. im right around 190 right now and still pretty lean. If i drop to 180 ill be ripped though, so I am trying to get there without losing much strength. im not going hardcore with the diet right now though. just eating clean and staying away from simple carbs.

Right now, I just came back to workout after like 3-4 months of doing nothing but eat.

Thing is that I broke some bone of my arm and leg due to a car accident, and had to stop training for a while.

I gained something around 8kg (16pounds?) in this meanwhile of fat. >_<

Now I'm back to gym to re-start the hard work.

I just look like you was in the before pics.

I'll follow your diet/cardio tips and see what's going to happen. :-)

By the way, what supplements did you take?

Anyways, incredible transformation. Very inspirational. Keep the pics going, pal!!! :)

hey howdy,

no worries about the extra weight you gained. usually if you haven't had the extra weight on for a long period of time, then it is much easier to lose than if you have been at a heavy weight for a significant length of time.

as far as supplements go, here is what i took:

1. whey protein powder (whatever is the cheapest with low carbs)
2. multivitamin (while on low carb diet MAKE SURE you take a multivitamin. you wont be getting all the vitamins you need through food, and there can be side effects if your body goes to long without certain vitamins)
3. creatine - i would keep taking creatine for a while. it may bloat you some, but that's okay, when you go off of the creatine you will lose the bloat and look fine. it should help keep your strength up some and your recovery

im trying to lose some weight right now too, so ill try to post some pics of the progess when i feel im ready. i still need to get a front lat spread shot of my bro to post sometime as well.

you could lose it in about 2-3 months if you dieted very hard and did cardio. i think i have posted the steps to my diet earlier in this thread, just go straight to the low carb, low fat part of the diet, and then slowly reduce calories of the 2-3 months.

i would suggest getting your bodyfat checked though by one of those electronic bodyfat tests. while they may not always be accurate, they seem to do a good job as long as you arent in the single digits for bodyfat. when i was around 210 it said i had about 40 lbs of bodyfat. so my lean body weight would be 170 lbs. when i lossed the weight i looked pretty much contest ready at around 175 lbs. So, you can get an idea of how much weight you will need to lose assuming you dont lose muscle along the way. At 180 to 185 i looked ripped with abs, so if you are just going for looking good but not doing a show, then you need to get within 10-15 lbs of your lean bodyweight.
i am currently 189lbs down from 206 at 5'8. i have been dieting for 7 weeks now. im thinking i need about another 9 or so weeks. i am not competing for a show, just want to look good this summer. how much weight would i need to lose to be ripped with a visible six pack? 7 weeks ago i was 18% bf on the standard calipers.

p.s ur brother is looking ****in ripped nice job. need a front and leg shots.

I'd say that for a visible six pack abs you would need to hit something around 6-9% bodyfat.

Of course, that's not a rule, but back then when I was lighter and ripped, that what my BF was.

your lean body mass would be around 169 lbs if the first bodyfat percent was correct, so in order to get down to around 5% you would need to weigh about 178 lbs. This is assuming you don't lose any muscle along the way.

I would guess at anywhere from 5-10% you would have abs. If you want super ripped abs it is going to take some work, but just visible abs are usually around 8-10%, at least for me.

congrats on your weight loss so far! keep it going!

oh ok. im looking to be about 8% bf. dont want to step on stage at the moment. just wont to reveal the muscle i built during my 6 month bulk. so if i need to weight 178lbs to be 5% bf that means im only 12lbs away from being shreded?

if u want to see how i look go to the following link:

http://www.bodybuildingdungeon.com/f...boys-bulk.html

how much bf do u think i have?

hey absboy,

you look great man. im impressed with your bulk and cut progress.

based on your last photos posted of what you look like right now, i would guess that you would need to cut down to around 170-175 lbs to have visible abs. to get "shredded" you would have to go even lower than that, but its not necessary if you aren't competing.

make sure you are training your abs hard, especially lower abs. it will help to give you more cuts when you do lose that last bit of fat around your abs.

keep us updated on how your progress is going. looking great man.

hey bud...take a look at some of my workouts in my log for back and tell me what you think. i'm bulking right now until december so i really don't care about my bf level although its always relatively low around 9-11% year round unless on a cut.

hey man thanks alot for the nice comments dude. i highly appreciate it. i didnt really work on my abs when i was bulking which was a mistake. i have been training them twice a week for the last 10 weeks dont know it i can build them now because my cals r low but i train them anyway. i will see what happens. so i need to get to 170-175lbs to be ripped? my last attempt at cuttting i was weighing in at 175lb with about 12% bf. if i get down to 6-8% bf at the same weight of 175lbs it this a improvement? because i dont want to be a stick with abs. when i was about 174lbs on my last cut i realized that i was way to skinny and didnt have enough muscle mass to cut, so i started bulking. if i have the same bf% as before but be heavier that will be an improvement. again thanks alot for the help and takeing time to help out others.

Any clue what BF % your bro is at? Looks to be 9-10 maybe? I'm not the best at judging. Just curious tho.

not sure what bf% he is at, im sure its low. he has veins in his legs and around his lower abdomen, and he probably has a good bit of water weight due to all the diet soda.

actually, both me and my brother were pretty thin when we started training. We both wanted to gain a lot of weight, so we ate like tanks for years trying to put on weight. The weight didnt start coming though until we were in college, and then we started gaining weight really fast. I started at around 160 and went up to 215 lbs, and my bro started at around 200 and went up to 270 lbs. We then decided to cut so we could get rid of all the fat we had gained along the way. We probably overdid things with the 'bulking'. we would eat like a dozen eggs with toast and half a pound of sausage. my bro would use the sausage grease left in the pan to make gravy. talk about nasty lol. BUT all the weight we gained helped in getting stronger and putting on some muscle. I just think it would be smarter to eat cleaner when trying to gain weight so you dont put on as much fat.

That was going to be my question. I have a hell of a time packing on the weight. I've recently put together a 'bulking' meal plan from collected meal ideas from different online sources and magazine suggestions, and will stick with it for about 3 months.
I know you said you really started gaining weight after a certain point, but how long roughly did it take to get from 160 lbs. to 215 lbs.?

i gained most of it within a year. The key is consistent heavy eating. I would make about 3 peanutbutter sandwiches in the morning with about an inch thick of peanut butter on each one. I would eat these throughout the day between my regular meals. We bought 14 gallons of milk at a time when we went to the store. We would both drink one gallon a day. almost every meal i drank with milk. before i went to bed at night i would eat 2 pb sandwiches and 2 full glasses of milk. I would make a huge bowl of oatmeal with a bunch of eggs mixed in it and then chow down. I remember one morning sitting on my couch in the living room before class and trying to finish a gigantic bowl of eggs and oatmeal. finished it, but ended up throwing up because i ate so much.

My brother was the same way. he gained about 40 lbs in 3 months, and then gained the rest over the rest of the year.

If you are going to eat heavily, then eat a lot of the RIGHT foods though. if you arent getting enough calories, then you won't grow. BUT if you arent getting enough protein, you wont grow either, at least not in the right areas.
