noob of course haha. I usually join forums with a lot of questions, looking to learn, get answers and then try and help others.

I made a post in the Teen bodybuilding forum because I've been trying to find a workout to do that really helps and everything now that soccer's finished. If you'd look at that, it'd be very much appreciated. Considered P90X but not really sure.

I haven't been able to find a lot of information on Splits. I know that it's splitting doing a full work out into doing different muscles per day, but haven't found a lot of information other then that. Like, good exercises to do, what muscle groups go together etc.

Well, hopefully I get to know a lot of people :)

welcome to the dungeon,
well i read your other thread, but i dont know how much i can add to that thread,
you said you only had a couple of 30 lb dumbbells at home, so you dont have access to a gym?
ok so lets say you dont and all you have is the 2 dumbbells,
there are lots of things you can do with just those 2 dumbbells, the only problem is they really are not heavy enough to make you grow much muscle,
ok here is a bunch of stuff you can do with what you have
standing or seated curls
hammer curls
concentration curls
overhead tricep extensions
dumbbell squats
stiff leg deadlifts
sumo squats
military presses
bent over one arm rows
standing calf raises holding one dumbbell in your hand and use a step to do calf raises on
upright rows
you can grab 3 chairs and do dips , use 2 of the chairs to place your hands on and the 3rd to place your feet, and just dip away..
push ups
that should get you started anyways,

I kind of have access to a gym but it's not really the best thing because it's at my school and not always open. I also can't get protein shakes or anything there because it'll just be completely messed up before the end of the school day when I can work out. The football team also starts using the non-machine part of the weight room at a certain point and I can't make it to any of the stations.

Anyways, that's why I'm probably gonna do P90X. It doesn't require the really heavy things, and gives me a very lean physique with little fat. I was thinking I could do P90X, and by the time it's done I might have enough money to actually buy a good bench and weights.

When I have the little body fat/lean physique then I could go more for building muscle mass by using more weight either in the P90X routine or doing a different routine to gain muscle mass but keep the lean physique.

What the hell is p90x? I did a quick google search which left me even more confused

Anyway if you can't get to a gym look into doing bodyweight exercises. Pull ups, dips between two heavy chairs and one leg squats.
You could get yourself a dumbell set as well which should not cost too much.

While watching youtube videos I stumbled across some home workout videos which seem pretty good

It's a 90day program. You have 7 different dvd's to watch where you have exercises and things that you need to do. The trainer guy is there and teaches you how to do them and helps you push yourself (For me at least) It has 3 periods and with each period has a day 1-7 schedule of what things you should be doing.

It also contains a nutrition plan for each period. Although I'm not sure how well that is, so I'll probably do a bit of looking into it and then make a post about it in nutrition.

Edit: can't post a url until I've made 15 posts or more so I can't give you a link.

I also noticed there's a P90X Plus workout. After reading a bit on that it's supposedly pretty good to build muscle and really keep yourself in shape after you finish the first P90X 90day session.

Hey bro, I think you would be better off to take the workouts that Mikeh posted for you! I really dont think that a trainer guy on a dvd is going to give you the motivation that you'll need & you can spend that $80.00 on something that works. But it kinda sounds like you've made your mind up. Just remember, if sounds to good to be true, it most likely is not true lol.

Well, I'm getting the DVD's from a friend. So, they're not really costing me anything. He's not doing them because he just doesn't have the time.

Maybe I'll try P90X for a week and then that workout, then see which I'm liking the most. How often should I be doing it? 3 days a week?
