Hey guys I'm new to the forum and am in need of some advice. I have been working out consistently for a little over 4 years now and my chest is the weakest aspect, both in mass and strength, of my body. I have come to terms that my chest is genetically not on my side. Anyone have any advice on how to mass up my chest?

The only advice I know to give is consistensy bro you gotta keep banging your chest as hard as you can from diff angles because you said your chest is weak I'm guessing your happy with everything else so I'm gonna assume your diet is good but ya just gotta go heavy with bb and db keep at it though bro

welcome to the dungeon.

for chest there are a couple of things to remember:

change is good, change the order of your exercises and even which ones you do.
retract your shoulder blades (pull them together) this puts the work on the pec and not the front delt.
build your mind-muscle connection - you want to feel your chest working, squeezing as the wt goes up or comes together.
having a good solid diet to help build muscle.

good luck bro. there are plenty of threads in the training section discussing chest routines.

If you're using a barbell, I try pushing my hands together at the top but not actually moving them, this puts a lot more stress on the chest muscles when you squeeze.

Why don't you list your chest workout as well as the rest of your routine?

I think some common mistakes that people make when training their chest is to always start with the flat barbell bench press. While it is a good exercise, don't get married to it. Variation is important.

Variation is key! If your current routine isn't building mass or strength then like the guys stated above, change up your chest exercises. Use machines you've never used before, if your a dumbell junkie then try more barebells or smith machines.. and vice versa. Keep the muscle guessing and stick with a good diet.
