Hi there new user here,

Just to give a background about myself, i used to be a national standard 1500metre runner when aged 16-18, but have had a lot of injury problems since which have ultimatley led to me having an operation on my knee about 6 months ago.

I am now 22 and post op started weight training initially to strengthen up my legs after the inevitable decline of muscle after the op but also to get my upper body in shape for a holiday. In a month i dropped from 175lbs to 168lbs (running weight used to be 154lbs so i was seriously out of shape!) while putting a decent amount of muscle on and dropping the fat.

Since then i have really got into training and in 4 months am now up to 189lbs but with more bodyfat. Basically im loving the training and gaining muscle and size and have researched a lot into training techniques and supplements but am hopefully looking to further my progress through the site and help others out in any way i can. I have read through a few training logs and it seems like this is a good way to get advice on training methods, nutrition and physique critique etc. Would this be the best way to go about getting advice by providing details about my regime, diet and updated pics etc?

My goals are to hopefully to get up to at least 200lbs before cutting for the summer, im not neccesarily looking to enter any shows but an ex-bodybuilder i train with sometimes is seriously trying to persuade me lol.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the dungeon, great to have you here. Yes, that would probably be the best way to get advice more geared towards you.

In order to gain those 14 pounds, (obviously) you want to go on a bulking phase. Hit up the nutrition section for help with that, it has greatly helped me in the past if you take full advantage of what people have to offer and follow a diet. And welcome to the dungeon!

cheers for the welcome and advice guys much appreciated.

so would posting my nutrition plan in the specific forum be a better way of getting advice for that? Or would i be able to gain help in the same way simply by starting a training log? Ive decided to start a log anyway as it should keep me motivated and updated with my training.

and yes chimera as im currently at 13 1/2 stone another stone wouldnt be a too bad a milestone would it lol.

If you want the most help from the dungeon, getting a specific diet tailored for your body type, weight, and needs (bulking or cutting); then posting in the nutrition section is the best way to do that. Training logs are mostly something else.... you create one and each and every day you type out what you ate and what you lifted, and how you felt, etc etc...
