I would like to say hello to everyone on this forum. I just joined. I would like to know what is the best way to use a lateral pulldown, should I pull the bar down in front of my chest or should I pull it down behind my head? What will build my latt muscles the faster? I really want my back to grow as fast as possible.

Welcome to The Dungeon bro. The best way to do lat pull downs is to take a wide reversed grip and, without leaning back, pull straight down, so it flares your lats on the way down and up.

personally hit it with both reverse grip, and straight grip...both wide to comfort level. best way to build your back though to get that nice V shape, is chin ups. and welcome to the dungeon bud.

Do them to the front of your chest. Pulling the bar down behind your head could put a lot of stress on the shoulder and may cause damage.

I like to do them palms facing me with a shoulder width grip.

welcome to the dungeon,, nice to have you aboard..

If you are just starting out on the machine.. Get used to the form first then pursue and greater range of motion and grip positioning.. Don't get yourself hurt if you have not used the equipment!!..
