Hey everyone, name is Kenny, 25, 6'2'' 225. I was a fatty most of my life then shortly after high school I lost about 80 pounds in 3 months, I know, not very healthy but it was so I could join the Navy. I was always fat so I compensated by lifting a lot but after I lost all the weight I lost all my muscle and have struggled with the fat gain that comes with trying to bulk up. If anyone has any suggestions on gaining size without fat, I'd be more than happy to hear it, I'm a Network Engineer so I sit on my but all day at work so cardio is key for me. Good to be here, thanks for having me.

I think you were replying to my thread, Kenny, not Dan but that ok :)

I work out 5-6 days a week, cardio most mornings lift in the evening. My diet is the hardest thing for me, being that I get no phyisical activity during the day I have to limit my calories. Typically I have 5 or so eggs (2 whole, 3 whites) with wheat taost in the morning, a scoop of peanut butter mid afternoon, protien bar or turkey burger for lunch, in the evening I kind of loose my discipline and eate a little more than I should, in upwards of 800-1000 calorie dinner. I drink a gallon of water a day, have for the past 5 years. I have ok muscle mass but too much fat covering it...I'll get pictures up as soon as I can.

Welcome B.A.M.F.!

Plow through the nutrition section and you'll find lots of nuggets that will be helpful.

Just to get you started, if BF is a struggle, lose the egg yolks and the peanut butter. Get your fats from a supplement (Flax seed oil, Fish oil, etc.). Eat more frequently (5-7 meals per day), but never in the kind of volume of 1000 cals at a sitting. If you're having that turkey burger on a bun, lose it & put it on a salad instead (not with cheese & bacon and fatty dressings, but with Balsamic vinegar and/or lemon juice).

The easiest way to not 'loose control' in the evening starts at the grocery store. If you live alone, do not buy what you'll be tempted to cheat with. Don't buy cookies. Don't buy cakes. Don't buy Ice Cream. Don't buy bakery items. Don't buy prepared foods. Try to restrict your shopping to the perimeter of the store where you are most likely to find the foods that are closest to their whole forms (fresh fruit, fresh veg, deli meats, etc.) If you don't live alone, consider coaxing anyone you live with to move to more healthful eating habits (thus eliminating stumbling upon their cheat foods). If that's not an option, make sure that all of the healthier foods are easier to get to, closer at hand. Make the $hitty stuff hard to get to, so you're more likely to reach for a healthy alternative.

Get info, thanks everyone. Ever since I lost all that weight I have struggled with a thousand different ways of eating but it always comes back to more frequent meals and low fat no bread. Thanks for the advice.
