I don't see why Ronnie would retire unless he gets injured, or unless someone else comes along that can beat him
Victor Martinez and possibly Branch Warren are the only guys that I see in the foresee-able future that have a chance of beating Ronnie, and Warren's chance is small as I think he'd have to bulk up too much in his midsection in order to gain enough mass across the rest of his body (especially his lats) to compete.
Martinez seems destined to be another Chris Cormier, all that potential, but unable to maintain the discipline to nail his conditioning without coming in flat.
I also don't see why Jay would retire. For whatever reason, he's a lock for the Arnie each year, and he places 2nd in the Olympia. That's a fuckload of $$$ broski, a fuckload.
Personally, I think he's completely delusional if he thinks he beat Ronnie this year. I read somewhere that he thought Ronnie could only beat him on side chest. What a laugh. Every pose where they turn around and you get to compare Ronnie's ripped glutes and Xmas tree lower back to Jay's water rolls and nonexistent (by comparison) lats, Jay loses, and loses big. |
