I thought he turned pro after the 2004 Russian GP...I could be wrong though

But how can you win your pro card in a pro show? Alex was invited to that show and the Olympia.

He probably won some sort of national championship in Russia but just decided not to turn pro until after the GP

If he competed in the OI he has tp be a pro invited or not, u have to have a pro card to compete in professional competitions. Right?

He won his Countries National title which grants him Pro status. Any country which is sanctioned by the IFBB allows this. Therefore he is a legitimate IFBB Pro.

he won the europa show i think or something like that in 2003 or 2004 i think. thats where he turned pro. man the guys fuckin huge but hes gotta get into condition. by looking at his recent pics no way is he gonan make the top 5. might get lucky and get into top 10 though. id really love to see him nail his condition.
