The Steve Weinberger-produced event will be held at New York City’s Tribeca Performing Arts Center this Saturday, April 15, in conjunction with the IFBB New York Pro Fitness Championships.
The Master’s event will feature some of bodybuilding’s finest “seasoned” pros, including Stan “Curlytop” McCrary, Rusty Jeffers and incredible sexagenarian Charlie “Arms” Urrego, as well as Claude Groulx, who won the last Masters Olympia contest, held in 2003. Also, 40-year-old Bob “Sir-Chics-A-Lot” Cicherillo has been seen doing double duty at Gold’s Gym in Venice for what may be his competitive swan song. “If I win this thing it would be kind of cool to pack it in right then and there -- retire on top,” he says. Held in conjunction with the IFBB shows will be the NPC-sanctioned NPC New York Metropolitan Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Championships, which are all national qualifiers.
