there is a MSN
VIRUS going around that sends everyone a on your msn list a link something like
http://vbulletin.com/somecrapblahblahblah/ (your email)
DONT CLICK IT ITS A DAMN VIRUS
IF YOU DID CLICK IT THEN THIS IS HOW U GET RID OF IT
1) Reboot computer in SAFE MODE - hold F8 after BIOS screen
2) In safe mode - I was able to view MSCONFIG - START, RUN, then type MSCONFIG
3) Uncheck USER32 etc and all 'unknown' items.
4) Navigate to C:\Windows\Prefetch - delete everything from the date you got infected
5) Run Regedit, Navigate to HK Current User/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run - in there will be some 'strange' entries - DO NOT DELETE - just modify the data - e.g. exe, change to exe2.
6) Next I went into C:\Windows\System, and deleted my MSCONFIG file - I then downloaded a new one from here:

7) I was now able to VIEW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS in the EXPLORER shell - I checked the C:\ root and found the following folder:
C:\!Submit - I deleted this (Shift+Delete)
8) I then did START, RUN, type MSCONFIG - I checked the STARTUP tab and looked for the 'STRANGE' entries - 'USERIN32' in my case - this had a patch of C:\Discovery\UserInput etc.. - I used KILLBOX (download type in google) to REMOVE THIS FOLDER - as EXPLORER couldn't see it - I had to check the following boxes - close explorer shell and DELETE including Subdirectories.
9) Once all that's done.. Reboot and Reinstall MSN Messenger :
