ok so why is the reason i can only give out so many reps in a 24 hour period, i would have thought that being on all the time it should be possible to rep more often to other members without this 24 hour ban, and just what is the quota in member reps i can spread out in a day?? is this something we can change?

I've never heard of a 24 hour limit. In the past it has just said you can't rep that member again, spread it around.

Nah, if you give full reppage to like 3 people or more you can't rep for 24 hours.

Yup got that a few times. It would b nice if it was at least removed for vip members. Gets old if you want to dive someone recognition for a good post and you can't.

Even people that arent VIP honestly. There has been some posts made that i would like to give REPS for but cant cuz of the spread around deal. But i understand boths sides i guess

Oh I agree but my way of thinking is that it's that way for some reason like all the noobs can't just go out and rep everyone all the time but a vip would be more picky on what to rep. I know you would also but where to draw the line on removing it would be hard ya know. One thing i notice a lot is people are stingy with their reps. They probably haven't even seen that message before..lol.. It's like they don't want anyone to get more then them or something. I on the other hand could care less. If it's a good post you get some if you're new and if your a good member then you get them all! I'm not stingy.

Totally see your point . Alot of people i think see them as a BADGE of HONNOR which in some cases is true...meaning they give gr8 advice on everything are trusted for there opinion...which they should have REPS . So i agree with the VIP thing , they should be able to give as many or however many at anytime.

i agree gringo, and yea a line needs to be drawn so its not over abused, i find it frustrating that i cant rep more, and that was something we talked about in the v.i.p forum last month, giving out more reps, and you and me plus a bunch of other members look at over a hundred posts or more a day, we need to be able to rep on big fella,,

Eh, I'm not sure if it's a number of people or the amount of points given out in 24 hrs.

Last year during this time, rep points were given out carelessly like candy. I agree, it's kinda pointless for the rule. But at the same time I can see why the admin's would do such a thing, to prevent what happened previously. Which sucks is reps are becoming listless and depreciated, but the value of them aren't even going up, which bothers me. They just sit there.

That, or vBulletin set that the rule up themselves when BBD was upgraded (Profile, visitor messages, etc. were added).

That's not always a good thing. Repping for post count defeats the purpose.

Also, I would never advise dumping all your reps on one post not that you lose them but is one post really that good? I know it depends on many reps you have but still.

I think he's getting at the fact a lot of us see a ton of posts and there's a good chance we could give out more because there's a chance we'll see more good posts. Not going by post count at all.

i agree somewhat with the rep amounts so why have up to 126 available to credit in the first place? anyway its not that big of a issue, it just seems pointless to cap off the available number of members you can rep in a 24 hour period, even if we can give a limited number say up to 5 -10 max reps per member and drop the cap it would make it far more productive to be able to even give the new members a few reps , i like to rep for a personal training thread, if the guy or gal has the motivation to start a log then to me giving a few reps to keep them motivated is a good thing, just my thoughts on the matter anyway..

5-10 reps won't even put a dent in most peoples rep count. I understand the rule about mot being able to rep someone without spreading some more reps around first but not the limit in a 24hr period.

It was a joke. You generally give 25 point rep rewards, which is hardly enough to raise it a point, which is fine i wasn't being critical. I'm not saying to dump your reps, that's why we can chose how much we wanna pend out to people.

The better and more thought out the posts are, the more reps handed to them. Same applies for the counteraction.

Try it out on me and we'll see :) lol jk. I remember bbdude telling me it was 25 points = 1 rep accretion. So if you received 100 points, your reps went up 4 points. Not sure if that's true, but it seems likely.

Me to if I know the person is a regular but if it's someone new and they haven't posted much then they get some but not all. No sense giving someone a decent amount of reps if it was their one and only good post and the rest to follow suck.

i guess i dont give out full reps, just like 5 for a good post, higher if like you guys say its a established member with some really solid post, i was wondering if we could change it so i could rep myself , of course max reps every time,, haha
