I see the place in my UserCP where I can add images to create a custom background in Profile page but when I add the URL it doesn't show up. How do I get a custom image in there?

You upload the image you want to use in one of your Albums. Once it's uploaded, use that image URL in the Use custom image field when designing new colors for the Profile page, that's how it will show up.

Simple, I just needed to look around at the instructions on the designing page... always read instructions, lol.

umm... google firefigher or something, save images in a folder and then upload to your profile via that folder.

Or take pics with camera and transfer to your folder of firefighter images and upload to the dungeon and link copy their urls into the Customize Profile page.

Not sure if i answered your question or not Chris. It's pretty straight-forward process.

The very first one, called Main, put it there.

I dunno if it's just me but I'm having big trouble trying to get anything custom in my profile, image-wise. I mean I cleaned out that camo stuff and the visitor box chat texture but then tried a few other textures and i kept getting errors about it being invalid. I suspect it has something to do with the new upgrades that the forum just had. I clicked on the invalid message link and went to blank page.... unhelpful. Then I tried using every image i had in my folder for this site, my sig, the camo background [the same one i was JUST using like 2 minutes ago], some .pngs, some .gifs and a lot of .jpegs none of them worked. Swell. Is anyone else having trouble using actual images that tile in their profile customization??

It's not a big deal but you're really limited with plain colors when customizing, having textures is really graphically-neat, the way it used to be before all the upgrades.

LOL, I did? No I didn't.. I said create a new album using the option for Profile Pics and place the images you want to use there. I just tried it, worked fine.

Try following these steps and see if you still have the issue:

I found the background I liked, the downloaded and saved to my computer.

Then you will need to go into your profile and click on Show All Albums under your photo albums to the right on your profile then click on add album.

You will see several choices here:

* Public
* Private - Only visible to contacts and moderators
* Profile - Pictures used to modify your profile style

You need to choose Profile

Then you need to name this album (I named my Profile Pics) then you can upload.

When uploading it is quicker and easier to do a smaller graphic that fits within the upload requirements.

Pictures will be automatically resized to fit within these constraints if possible. However, you may receive better results by doing it manually.

After uploading it go back into your profile and click on CUSTOMIZE PROFILE.

Here you will see under main heading a place to upload your background image and next to that an option that says repeat. I chose Both so my image is horizontial and vertical.

From there you can choose background colors and font colors simply by clicking on the box and choosing your color.

Everytime you click preview you will see a small box showing what all the different options are effecting, and can customize your look around that.

Then when all is said and done go to the bottom and save your work.

I found the issue. I was trying to copy and paste the url into the field. Instead of picking it from the little panel once its linked.. Then it was just a matter of picking my colors..

Wow very cool...now about clay.......lol
