OK would it be a wise idea to LOCK or DELETE dorment / unused / dead threads as depending on the thread which may have been started months ago is no longer relevant to todays threads and could bring back unwanted personal subjects / topics.

I understand when starting a thread there is an option to end at a set date but this is just not being done, and out-dated / old threads come back to light.

Theres nothing worse in my opinion in logging into BBD and seeing OLD dead threads which are no longer relevant.

So LOCK or DELETE old threads ? at all possible ?

Well this has been considered in the past on a previous post . The issue was there is relevant information within the threads.

Hence the issue died from there.

hey Chris ! Your never too far away in replying to my threads

I do agree with that on threads such as my SCAM ALERT which people need to be aware of. and quality threads such as AAS use that members may want to read up on in the future but im talking more of your general / personal threads which are 1) .... not educational so why leave them as active ? 2) .... no longer used by the thread starter

Educational / informative threads can be saved and maybe stored in a special directory on this site for personal viewing. this way all the old general threads etc which are not relevant or just personal can be deleted.

Surely any BB forum which is being kept fresh faced and up to date it a better forum for doing so ?!

There's a lot of things that need to happen behind the scenes which prevent that from being an option, unfortunately. Deleting is definitely not an option, but I've told Freak that if he feels the need to lock a thread that has an excessive amount of "revival", then that's fine.

You need to remember that every thread here is indexed in Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. and that's how almost everyone finds Bodybuilding Dungeon. If we delete those thread, no matter how old, we're potentially preventing new users from finding the board and registering and ultimately creating new, informative discussion on the board. If most of you think back to how you found BBD, chances are it was from searching for something bodybuilding related on Google.

Could they not have a system like if no one has posted in a thread for say 3 months then it will be locked. People could still read it.
