Banned?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but when i try to access the site from home as i have done before, I get the message 'Sorry, your IP has been banned' and when I click the button to contact admin, nothing happens.

I would like to know why, as so far I have not made any posts apart from this.

You probably used a different name at home, got banned, and are now coming back under a different name and wondering why you are banned...

It's in the correct section.

Then I don't know what to tell you besides a friend or roommate used it at your house and got banned.

Surely my account would have been affected if it was something I had done?

If a friend or roommate at your house (your IP), not necessarily your username got banned that would be the reason.

A friend may have logged in at my house, but I'm pretty sure he's not banned.

Could it be that he logged in before I registered and it looks as though he is creating this account?

Well, yeah he registered before you at your house, got banned and now you are at some other IP with the name mck_776.

He didn't register at my house, only possibly logged in.

Also, he is not banned.

Is it possible to have my IP unbanned please?

I don't know who to "unban" to allow you access to your house ip. You will have to pm me the ip of your house and I will see what username it brings up that was banned, why, and when. We can go from there.

I have no idea of my house IP, and I cannot get any access to these forums from home.

Up until yesterday it was fine, so I assume it was yesterday.

Type "My IP address" in Google. The first or second link (either one) will tell you.

Then you go to wherever you are now and let me know.

Nobody was banned yesterday or in the past several days. It might be a browser issue or firewall.

could it not be his ip has settled in a banned block of ip addresses ? this sometimes happens when a forum has had trouble from bots and his ip address has changed if his not got a static ip address

just a thought

can sort it sometimes by just re booting a few times
