ym123 had less than a thousand before he became vip, however to get the status just make informative posts, contribute constantly, and webmaster will take care of the rest.

i was wondering the same thing but hey you guys have already taken care of every possible angle pretty much. although there is an option under your user cp to purchase vip status if you didn't know.
